Stroll Down Memory Lane

The first TSD recording was actually done on in such a wild fashion.
My fellow duelist, X, and I were meeting up every week or so to have cyphas at my house. We were in such a symbiotic mode when any beat came on, we felt noone could touch us. One day at Walter Payton College Prep, we were alerted to an avenue for us to display our lyrical presence. THAT night, we went to my house and tried to find a beat that suited us. X had to leave shortly after we got to my house, but we picked out one beat we wanted to "work" with. The next day at school, we were told we had to have our performance song ready to submit to the coordinators of the show and to to be ready to perform for a rehearsal. We knew we had little time to complete our song and to be show ready. We decided to come to the show in classically "Chi" hip-hop fashion, with airbrushed shirts and caps. The only place I knew that offered respectable work at a day's notice was the Mega Mall near Fullerton and Milwaukee. As the school day ended, we were en route to the Mega Mall on the CTA. Since X had his laptop, we had the chance to work on our song. With the always dynamic background noise of a CTA bus, we were already behind the eight-ball in a sense. We both laid the lyrics we had prepared in one take and "THE SHUT DOWN" is history. We went out the next day at school with one rehearsal and blew the audience away.

The day after the performance, we sat down and worked together to put into the vaults, a rudimentary piece called, "Comin From the Bassment". In this song, are well directed references to characters from the Walter Payton College Prep Chronicles 2001-2005 and we later performeed this track at another show at the school.
